In conjunction with the MSFWB Association Meeting, we are pleased to announce our second annual Mississippi State Youth Conference! This event, which will also take place at the Courtyard Marriott on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, April 24-25, will feature fun activities, moving worship, and the opportunity to fellowship with other Christian youth from across our state.
We will also be conducting our state youth competition during this event! The following is a tentative schedule of events for the MSYC:
6:00- 8:00 –
MFWB Youth Competition*
  • Competition will be held in the conference rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott.
  • We will use two (2) rooms set up for competition (1 – music comp. and 1 – Bible and other comp.)
  • Should the need arise we will roll competition over to Saturday morning beginning at 9.
  • The logistics of the competition schedule will be available by early to mid-April. That is why it is important to have your registration submitted by the March 15th deadline
8:30- 10:00 – Special Guest: Allen Pointer

Allen and his wife of 30 years, Jill Picirilli, have two daughters. Christen and Catie who graduated in the Spring of 2013 from Welch College with degrees in Education. Allen is a graduate of Welch College and has his Master’s in Youth and Family Ministry from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.

IMPORTANT NOTICE for Competitors:

Be sure to get an UP TO DATE Guidelines Book and Bible Study Pack CD.

The state level will accept registrants directly from the churches rather than a district level competition. We still desire for the individual churches to send their first place competitors in all music and arts.   However, we will now allow 1st and 2nd place competitors in all Bible competitions. The NYC allows us to send 1st in 2nd place competitors for all Bible competitions INCLUDING Memorization. However, a score of 50% is required for TEAM Bible Competitors to Advance to NYC per the MS CE Board. They only allow us to send 1st place for all music & arts categories.

Creative Writing (Category 8) entries are to be sent with a digital copy of the CTS Ministry Expo Event Entry Form the appropriate fees directly to as described in the Guidelines Book on pages 48-50.

There are several updates to the guidelines this year.
